Product Description

The Mighty Armory SHORTY BULL is a low profile, universal decapping die. The posted cap design includes a primer flicker spring which operates to prevent primer pull backs or primer chute jams. Save time and eliminate frustration!

Shorter profile reloading dies are beneficial because the loader can see all the station dies while the press is operating and it allows for easy access to dies left and right of it. The shorter shaft also adds strength to the pin.

The die inside and out are precision CNC machined from steel. The die has a thick-walled mouth, which adds extreme strength for heavy duty use.

The bore is .550 diameter, which can fit any case length up to .308 Win. 

Mighty Armory steel decapping pins are available in two sizes: 

  • Mighty Armory profile .058 diameter decapping pin, optimal for Lapua, Peterson, some foreign brass etc.
  • Mighty Armory profile .078 standard diameter decapping pin

      What is the difference between the two versions of the Shorty Bull Decapping Die?

      • One version has a one-piece decapping shaft-pin and fully threaded cap specifically for decapping 17 caliber to 20 caliber cases.
      • The other version has a primer flicker cap and spring with the standard shaft for decapping up to .308 cases.
      • Both die bodies are exactly the same. The difference is the shaft and primer flicker cap mechanism.

      Can I purchase one die and the internal parts to convert it to decap 17 caliber up to .308?

      Step 1: Drop the shafted pin into the die body.

      Step 2: Tighten the cap into the cap well with the spring. Strongly hand-tighten the cap.

      Step 3: Lower the tool head or raise the ram.  

      Step 4: Turn the die into the tool head until the mouth of the die contacts the plate or shell holder. Back out ¼ turn.  

      Step 5: Turn locknut to lock it down.  

      Add a touch of vibratite or loctite to the pin threads first then snug with a 3/16 wrench. Do not over-tighten.

      Universal Decapping

      The one-piece shaft and pin is a narrow .150 diameter to decap cases 17 to 20 caliber. The .218 shaft and decapping pin is the best option for decapping 9mm luger up to .308 Win.

      Extreme Strength
