XMA & XMS Decapping Dies Instructions
Step 1: If decapping with the XMS Die, then first disassemble and degrease all parts of the die. Rubbing alcohol works well. XMA dies not require degreasing.
Step 2: Add a touch of purple vibratite #111 between the shoulder of the decapping shaft and decapping pin. Screw pin into the shaft. Use 7/32" and 3/16" wrench on the flats on the shaft and the pin. Snug the pin into the shaft ⅛ of a turn. Do not overtighten or it may result in snapping the threads.
Step 3: Drop the case guide into the die. Drop the shaft through the threaded insert. Slide the spring over the shaft. Turn it into the die and hand-tighten the threaded insert into the die body.
Step 4: Tighten the cap into the cap well with the spring. Strongly hand-tighten the cap.
Step 5: Turn the die into the press station. When the die contacts the shell plate, back it out about 1/4 turn.
Step 6: Tighten the locknut to lock it down on your press and begin decapping. You should hear the sound of the snap or flick of the primer!
