The Mighty Armory Super Duty Smart Decapping Die is the only “Smart” die designed to stop your press by automatically sensing a Berdan or blocked case flash hole.

Precision CNC machined, black oxide-coated steel, this innovative decapping die is a heavy duty, spring-operated design. Recommended for use on high-speed and auto-drive presses for reloading .380 pistol up to .308 win and similar case sizes.

Compatible with the Smart Sensors, the Super Duty Decapping Die is a dynamic smart design, which allows the shaft to rise against the floor of a Berdan case, ensuring against pin breakage at high speeds, which will save you valuable time in your reloading process. Jog up, remove the case, and restart. 

Case guide is optional: Choose the size you would like with your die. Three options are available: 223 Rem, 308 Win, or pistol case guide.

The Super Duty Decapping Die includes three (3) Mighty Armory M2 .078 decapping pins. Toughest in the industry. Pins are swiss machined, rolled threads, tool steel, heat treated and tempered with a bend rate of 1000+ lbs. 

Add the Mighty Armory Smart Sensor for your press. The Smart Sensor is an innovative decapping sensor designed to automatically protect and shut down your auto drive after recognizing a Berdan case or stone-filled flash hole. We offer sensors compatible with multiple reloading presses.

Estimated decapping pin cycles is 200,000-300,000.

The Super Duty Decapping Pin at .078 diameter has over a 1,000 pound dead weight bend rate. Even a case coming into the plate sideways will most often get flicked away without damaging the pin. 

Pro Tip:

All Mighty Armory Decapping Dies can also function as Case Hold Down Dies by simply switching out the pin for a Universal Hold Down Tip

    Instructions

    Step 1: Ensure the spring is installed on the shaft.

    Step 2: Screw the pin into the shaft about half-way. Use purple vibraTITE 111 on the threads. This will prevent the pin from backing out of the shaft, which can cause problems. Use a 3/16" wrench to hold the flats of the shaft and snug the pin into place. Vice shaft with rubber grips to prevent scarring of the shaft. Do not overtighten the pin into the shaft – just snug it. The vibraTITE will do the rest.

    Step 3: Drop the shaft and pin into the die body and screw on the top cap of the die. You will feel the spring tension start. Turn the top down and leave a gap of about the thickness of a dime. Leaving this gap will ensure the spring will work properly.

    Step 4: Turn the die down into the tool head far enough so that the lower threads on the die are below the bottom of the tool head.

    Step 5: Install the bottom case holder cap (collet) with or without the rifle case guide in place.

    Step 6: Raise the die and bring your tool head all the way down. Turn the die down to touch the shell plate. Then back it out about a full turn.

    Step 7: Decap a case. When you hear the primer flick out you know you’re ready to go.

    If you have the decapping sensor, set the housing on the top of the die by sliding it down until it stops.

    If it’s a plug-in sensor, plug the sensor connector into the module. All set to go! When you run into a bad case, the sensor will shut down your drive and save you time and pins.
